For a while now, Fuzion has wanted to do a promotional project that all of our designers could participate in. After quick brainstorm, we came up with the idea of coasters. Choosing from a list of famous creative quotes, each member of our talented staff created a unique design that showcased their own sense of style. After a critique and some tweaks, we came away with seven original designs. We had them printed by our own Amy Towne, who in her spare time runs a letterpress studio, Towne Press (soon to be featured in the Fuze). After having the printing plates made, Amy and her husband, Schuyler, spent several nights printing 300 sets of coasters (do the math, 2100 coasters printed on both sides) by hand on a 1901 printing press. We must say they came out AMAZING! We were eager to give them out as party favors at our holiday bash to the oohs and ahhs of the party revelers.
