Employee Spotlight: Meet Dave Costa
Name: Dave Costa
Position/title: Graphic Designer
What do you enjoy most about working at Fuzion?
Everything actually! I get to be apart of a great team, I get to use my talent and skills, and I get to experiment with different designs.
Before working at Fuzion, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Well, I would have to say that it’s a tie between a meat room cleaner at a grocery store and working at a party costume rental store. The Meat Room cleaning job was basically what is sounds like… clean the machines that make your hamburger. The party costume rental store was me dressing up in costumes and going to kids parties, events and even standing on the street corner waving at cars passing by dressed up as either a gorilla or an Easter Bunny.
If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
Pilot. Something sounds relaxing and also thrilling to have the clouds just pass right by you.
What is your biggest achievement to date – personal or professional?
My student loans have been paid off for a few years now… thank god!
What is the one thing you can’t live without?
Air… sorry had to! I can’t live without my eyes. They help me learn new things, see new places and most of all discover everything that this world has to offer. Without them, I’d be lost.
What’s your most memorable facepalm moment?
So when I was a kid, my folks would get me a huge box of Jelly Belly jelly beans for Christmas, I enjoyed making new mixed flavors (2 marshmallow & 1 Root Beer= Root Beer Float). Well one day, still can’t remember how it happened, but that box knocked over and all of the jelly beans landed on the floor! So much for know what each flavor was in what tray since the watermelon looked like the jalapeño, the black licorice looked like the coffee and the red chili pepper looked like cherry… talk about messing up a kids taste buds lol
When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?
Honestly can’t remember, there have been so many times it’s hard to keep track of.
What do you do when you’re not at work? Tell us about any activities or hobbies you enjoy.
Traveling, going hiking with my wife, walking and playing with my dog Gail, driving, tinkering with ideas in my head, listening to music, enjoying a good beer at a newly discovered brewery.
You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?
I’m going to say that I’d be “Blaze Orange.” For being a big guy, I’m very stealthy, so being Blaze Orange means that you’d know I’m there. Flip side, could be taken in the context of you’ll see me coming too.
What is your motto or personal mantra?
“Always be there for anyone at any point of the day… you never know when you’ll be needing someone to be there for you.”
